RAW Bike Ride

The 2016 RAW bike ride was held between rain showers on Saturday May 7th.  Riders were able to stay dry and enjoy the warm spring sunshine while sampling home brews from Steve's list of recipes.

Back at the Brickhouse, this year's Leadership Class offered twenty silent auction items designed to raise funds for the installation of a wheel chair swing at Emerson Elementary School in Indianola.  First reports indicated a total of over $1,400 was raised from the auction.

Thank you to everyone who helped organize, set up, and facilitate the event.

Big Thanks to Mike L and The Brickhouse.

Thought For The Day

“And also don’t forget, the reason opportunity is often missed

is that it usually comes disguised as hard work.”

Clifford Irving

THE ROTARY FOUNDATION

The mission of The Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

The Rotary Foundation helps fund our humanitarian activities, from local service projects to global initiatives. Your club or district can apply for grants from the Foundation to invest in projects and provide scholarships. The Foundation also leads the charge on worldwide Rotary campaigns such as eradicating polio and promoting peace. Rotarians and friends of Rotary support the Foundation’s work through voluntary contributions.

LEADERSHIP

The Board of Trustees manages the business of the Foundation, led by the trustee chair. The Rotary International president-elect nominates the trustees, who are elected by the Rotary International Board of Directors. The trustee chair serves for one year and trustees serve for four years.
