The National Balloon Classic begins next week Friday Evening. Didn't we just get done????
This Monday, July 21st, we will meet at the field to set up the parking field.
Time: 5:00 p.m.
Needed:
1. One or Two Steel Fence Post Drivers
2. One or Two Lawn Mowers, capable of getting down to the ground.
3. Many volunteers to set:
a. 2 - volunteers to guide the lawnmower operator from one end of the field to the other.
b. Lane markers - Insert into the ground. We could use a couple of Heavy Hammers and a steel rod to create holes for the lane markers along the center because the ground is so hard.
c. set up the entrance with fence posts and rope
d. set up the East EXIT area with fence posts and rope
e. set up the Volunteer Parking area (unless NBC has it done already)
f. Volunteer to bring refreshments to parch everyone's thirst after the work is completed.
As just mentioned, the Balloon Classic begins next Friday July 25th.
We need all hands on deck Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.
NBC has planned new and exciting events for this year's Classic and is expecting larger numbers of people to attend, including over 2,000 people from Wells Fargo.
If you are unable to help on your assigned night, it is imperative that you find someone to work for you.
A friend, neighbor, or prospective member.
We have a lot of fun, but it is also hard work so please make every effort to cover your assignments.
Seven Indianola Rotarians joined Des Moines area Rotary clubs to package meals (Hungry-Free Thru Rotary). We brought back 4104 meals to be given to Helping Hand for distribution.
As our service project for the 2014-2015 Rotary year, we have decided to provide new, warm winter coats to children in District 6000. This project will help kids in your community stay warm and healthy, which allows them to attend school and feel better about themselves.
Because we want to help as many children in need as possible before this winter, we are trying to get money raised quickly so an order can be placed by the middle of October. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase 4000 coats or one new coat per District 6000 member. If everyone donates $16.50, there will be 4000+ coats distributed in the district. A per capita donation of $19.00 will buy over 5000 new coats.

Barnhart, a military veteran who served in Iraq in 2006-2007, is the founder and president of our organization. I am trying to line up speaking engagements for him to help spread the word about our organization, what we have to offer all communities, and gain support. I would like to know if you would be interested in having Holden Barnhart speak at one of your meetings to help us get the word out that we are here. Please feel free to contact me via facebook message or call Holden Barnhart at 1808-772-3456.
