Our Rotary Year runs from July 1 through June 30 the following year.
With the end of the Rotary year approaching, our leadership team is preparing for a seamless transition to the new Rotary Year.
This year's new leadership will include Laura stepping into the President's role after spending two years learning how our club conducts business. Dave T becomes our President-Elect and will continue to learn our club's role in the community. In addition, Gary C has asked to step away from the Treasurer's duties, so leadership is searching for a member who is willing to take on the important role of monitoring our club's monetary assets.
Laura and Terry are working on the duty schedule for the next Rotary year, which includes functions at our meetings. If you are wiling to help our club's meetings as a Sergeant of Arms, Music Leader or leading our invocation each week let one of them know now. The time involved with each is about 5 minutes per week, but as you know, each is an important part of our meeting.
Ron H will transition to Past President to help Laura and Dave set our club's goals and plan future activities.
Laura is already working with Committees to transition Service Committee, Admin, Pubic Relations and Membership for her Rotary Year. Now is the time to step up and help our club be a better member of our community and world. Ask Laura where she can use your skills.
Our Club's activities will also ramp up with planning for parking at the Balloon Classic, Planning to build a new 'Shed' at the Balloon Parking Field, NBC Parade, Annual Book Sale in September, Log Cabin Day's Parade, Dictionaries to 3rd Grade Students, and RAW Ride next spring.
So the question is "How can you help our leadership?" Consider becoming an active member of a committee, with the key word 'active'. Your ideas are what makes are Club a positive influence in our community. A famous phrase spoken by President Kennedy and heard around the world in the early 1960's is paraphrased here: "Ask not what your Rotary Club can do for you, but what YOU can do for Rotary and your Community."
