Of The Things we think, say or do

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL  and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all Concerned?

Friday After Rotary we plan to place Rotary Stickers in the front of the dictionaries.
We could use as many hands as possible to make the job easy and quick.
Stay for a few minutes after to help.
Thanks
Ron

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to help direct traffic at the Steak Fry last Sunday.
The estimate of 5,000 in attendance was passed before the first of 6 buses arrived and the cars did not stop entering the field until almost 3 p.m. even though we ran out of parking space earlier than that.  Traffic was bumper to bumper going north at 5:15 p.m. again.

Again, many thanks to all who helped.
Our club received $750 for the effort.

“The difference between a successful person and others
is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge,
but rather a lack of will.”

Vince Lombardi

Arlen issued a challenge last week to match $500 for the District Governor's Coats for Kids project. All money donated will be returned to Indianola as various sized coats.  These coats will then be given to children whose family is unable to provide one for them.  Hope Foundation will be asked to help with identification and distribution of the coats.

Checks should be made payable to:  "District 6000 HEF"  If you are interested in participating in the KEEP KIDS WARM project, we ask that you please give your donations to Gary or Terry.

We are keeping track of each member's donation on a worksheet to submit to the DG by the end of September in an effort to make it easier for the DG's office to track how many coats our club will receive in return. If you choose to send your check directly to the DG, please note the donation is from our club so they know where to send the coat(s).

We have been asked to send our donations in no later than October 1st so the deadline is this week.

Let's exceed the challenge.

Terry

4.  I am a member of the team for Veterans for Missing and Exploited Children, a nonprofit organization based in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Holden R. Barnhart, a military veteran who served in Iraq in 2006-2007, is the founder and president of our organization. I am trying to line up speaking engagements for him to help spread the word about our organization, what we have to offer all communities, and gain support. I would like to know if you would be interested in having Holden Barnhart speak at one of your meetings to help us get the word out that we are here. Please feel free to contact me via facebook message or call Holden Barnhart at 1808-772-3456. Thank you for taking the time to take a look at this and I look forward to hearing from you! www.vfmaec.com or visit us on our facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Veterans-for-Missing-and-Exploited-Children/194630694024081
