Brews For Stew

Rotary Club of Indianola is assisting The Groggy Dog Restaurant again this season to create meals for those who may not have other options.  The Groggy Dog, West Hill Brewery, Rotary Club of Indianola and donations from individuals have raised funds to create five batches of Guinness Stew.

Rotary Club members meet at the Groggy Dog on the appointed days to package the stew.

Each batch will create about fifty meals which can be reheated and utilized on one of those cold winter days when a hot meal improves one's outlook.  Once the stew is packaged, it is frozen and delivered to Warren County Helping Hand and Heal House of Iowa for distribution.

A second batch of 2021 Stew was processed and packaged at The Groggy Dog on December 19th.  Todd, Ron, Seth and Terry spent about one-half hour packaging the stew, then delivered it for distribution.

Marv, in an effort to make the meal more satisfying, devised a method to add mashed potatoes to the stew. It worked out great in the new packaging.

Our 3rd batch is planned for Sunday January 2, 2022.
