Rotaract is preparing for next school year through election of officers.
Interact is working on a couple of projects, but is finding it hard to get members to attend meetings when weather and school events keep changing.
Invitations to the Rotary Foundation Dinner on April 5th were completed and ready to hand out. Members are encouraged to invite non-members to hear Van Hardin and learn more about Rotary.
Tickets to the Foundation dinner may be purchased online and individuals will have the opportunity to donate additional funds to the playground project at the same time.
Mckinley noted that conversations are continuing to include Young Professionals as potential members of a Satellite Rotary Group.
Ron reported that the Art Festival will be held at Annelise Winery on Saturday November 2nd. This year’s event will be a fundraising opportunity to purchase a “clay mixer” for the High School Art Department. Ron indicated that Jan and he need help organizing the event.
The checking account has been moved and systems created to help pay bills timely.
Mckinley indicated that he will be attending PETS on March 15-16 in Ames.
Todd reported on the Grant for the Playground Project.
The District Grant has been approved for $4,850.
The amount will be used to pay for site preparation, wood chips, benches, Panels and Posts for a Musical apparatus for blind children.
100 hours of labor equity will be required to complete the grant. Members and non-members will be asked to help in site preparation, concrete work and installation during an 8-week time period this spring.
