Rotarians are very much more favorably disposed toward action than they are toward words.” ~Paul P. Harris Rotary Club of Chicago November 1912

“The world as we have created it is a process of our thinking.  It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.”

This Week's Program

Jeromy will introduce David Maahs from the Greater Des Moines Partnership. David has updates on the many great things happening in Greater Des Moines region.

Playground Equipment Site
Forms were set last Saturday morning. City crews finished grading and poured the cement for the sidewalk around the play area.

The playground equipment will be set by the manufacturer next week.

Rotary will provide the labor to add mulch to the area after the equipment is installed.  This is currently scheduled for 8 a.m. on Saturday June 28th.  Plan to help.

Pickard Park Entrance

After the forms were set for sidewalks around the playground area, the group assisted Doug in the cleanup near the entrance of the park.

Parks & Rec is working to enhance the look at the entrance by cleaning up the area, taking out fence and removing trees to make the entrance much more appealing to visitors.

A side benefit of the cleanup is additional overflow parking.

2019-2020: Rotary Connects the World

RI President-elect Mark Daniel Maloney’s theme for 2019-20, Rotary Connects the World, asks Rotarians to strengthen the many ways that Rotary Connects the World, building the connections that allow talented, thoughtful, and generous people to unite and take meaningful action through Rotary service.
