AARP is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to helping people ages 50 and older to improve their quality of life as they age. With over 38 million members and growing, we lead positive social change through our extensive product offerings and services.
Rotary International's President-Elect Mark Daniel Maloney states "Rotary is built on Connection."

High School Counselors will be nominating this year’s RYLA participants during the month of February.
The Foundation Dinner is scheduled for Friday April 5th at Annelise Winery. Dave is working on securing a speaker. Members are encouraged to invite a potential member, family member or business owner to this year’s Dinner.
Our Club has, at different times in the past, nominated a local individual to be a Paul Harris Fellow, someone who is not a member of our club, but who has been a significant resource for our community. During the discussion, Terry submitted a nomination and Ron offered a second for an individual. This individual is an integral part of our community. The Board approved the motion. The award is scheduled to be announced during the Foundation Dinner.
Membership is reorganizing the new member process to make it more explainable to current and future members. Worksheets are located near the name badges each Friday. There is a checklist of activity that can be followed when nominating and bringing an individual or corporate member into the club.
Last summer the Board approved a motion to move our bank account from Regions Bank to Peoples Bank. That process was completed in January. In addition, three individuals will have authority for check writing each year – Treasurer, President and President-Elect.
Tuesday January 29, 2019 Members of Rotary Club of Indianola and IYP met to discuss creation of a Rotary Satellite Club. Positive reaction was received. Formal decisions were not made, yet further discussion, with a potential start date in September, and follow-up in the next couple of months.
A motion by Ron, second by Arlen, to approve $250 for a multi-club Des Moines Area Hunger Project. A May 14th Event is being planned by area Clubs in Des Moines. Members are encouraged to watch for more details.
Leadership is searching for a member willing to be included in our leadership succession starting with the 2019/2020 Rotary Year. Several names were discussed, and those individuals will be approached for commitment.
The next Board meeting will be at 7 a.m. Wednesday March 6, 2019 at Crouse Café.
